Recognition of Caribbean secondary education

UK NARIC is working with the Caribbean Examinations Council to provide a benchmarking study of the recently introduced Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence.

The aim is to facilitate wider recognition globally by evaluating the programme against International education systems.  As well as reviewing the Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence syllabus and assessment, UK NARIC will be visiting Barbados in May to observe the programme’s delivery in schools.

“We are delighted to be working with the CXC in the evaluation of the CCSLC, its most recent secondary school level qualification,” said Stephanie Thomas, Project Officer at UK NARIC, “we appreciate the important role that education plays both in facilitating domestic and global mobility and in developing and shaping economies. Evaluating the CCSLC against international education standards will help strengthen understanding of the qualification amongst international stakeholders.”

Updates on the progress of the benchmarking study will be available through future editions NARIC News.  For more information about the benchmarking work please contact [email protected].
