UK NARIC plays key role in taking forward the ASEM quality assurance and recognition agenda

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia is the host ministry for the 5th ASEM Education Ministers' Meeting (ASEMME5), and the 2nd Senior Officials’ Meeting (SOM2) of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

ASEMME5 is taking place today 27 April and tomorrow in the Latvian capital, Riga.

ASEMME5 will focus on the quality of higher education and recognition, industry involvement in education, balanced mobility and lifelong training. 

Our Chief Executive, joining the UK delegation, is participating at the events and engaging in dialogue with education Ministers and senior officials from both Asia and Europe.

UK NARIC plays an active and key role in taking forward the ASEM quality assurance and recognition agenda, providing expert advice on:

  • Establishing the network platform in support of the Asian National Recognition Information Centres (ANICCW) 
  • Developing Guidelines, Principles and Practices on Recognition in the ASEM Region;
  • Establishing the cross-border quality assurance network in higher education (CBQAN).

ASEMME5 will see the official launch of the Asian network of national information centres (ANICs).
